Camera Work

I always carry one or two cameras when I travel, and frequently, when I just go for a walk.   I take pictures for many different reasons, to document events, places, and things, to record ideas and elements for paintings, and to make an artistic photographic statement.  My Abstract photos are always artistic statements as they speak about purely visual elements: form, color, texture, light.  Occasionally, reasons for taking a picture overlap.  The photo may be artistic and documentary.  There is always something that excites the eye—abstract images in the unexpected juxtaposition of trees, fruit, buildings, rocks, umbrellas, you-name-it.  Sometimes it’s the rhythm of shapes and light and colors; the vitality of a person, an animal or a sculpture; the intrigue of shadows and reflections.  Here are some images that captured my attention.
